As the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games continue, Sports Business Journal is convening a daily roundtable of corporate partners and Olympic leaders to assess what these Games signal for LA28 and beyond.
OBE’s President of Onboard Sports Advisory, Dave Mingey, is among the voices shaping the conversation.
In this installment, the focus turned to Winter House and Casa Airbnb and how sponsor-led spaces are becoming essential connection points in a geographically dispersed Games.
With venues spread across regions, Milan is revealing a new dynamic. As Dave noted, this geographic dispersion is “creating a fragmentation to the traditional Olympic experience.”
Proactive partners are responding by building intentional convening spaces, hubs for athletes, industry, families, and local communities to gather.
Looking ahead, that need will only grow. LA28 will utilize a distributed, no new permanent venues model spanning more than 40 venues across greater Southern California and additional markets including Oklahoma City, New York, Nashville and more.
