Inspiring the East & West Coast to “Choose Go” with Nike.
What’s soft and springy and energizing all over? The Nike Epic React. To celebrate the launch of their new running shoe and it’s endlessly-energizing-meets-compromise-nothing qualities, Nike needed a running partner with the same chutzpah. Together, Nike and OBE shut down the 90 Freeway in LA and the Manhattan Bridge in NYC. (We’ll pause to let that sink in).
The two races celebrated community, highlighted the limitless energy of the technology, and encouraged athletes in motion to stay in motion. Runners in LA crossed the 10k finish line alongside Team USA gymnast Simone Biles and were welcomed into the Athlete Village where they were rewarded with a variety of experiential gifts—carnival games, ice cold beer, food trucks, a foam pit photo op, exclusive product, access to local influencers, and a pair of Apple Powerbeats3 headphones. In NY, New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz and thousands of runners crossed the 5k finish line into a concert by the one and only Diplo. It’s safe to say we put the “epic” into this Epic React run series.
The Results: 12,000+ runners. $45,000+ in onsite sales at Finish Line retail space. 53,125 gallons of water used at LA event & restored to threatened watersheds in the Southwest U.S.
