Dan started his career as a music agent with the New York based, Famous Artists Agency where he represented some of the biggest names in hip hop music such as Wu-Tang Clan, Onyx and Run DMC. In search of something more, he fused his passions for action sports and music by launching one of the first ever snowboarding and music festivals with his new corporate identity, a production company he called On Board Entertainment. By 2005, OBE had created and produced some of the largest events in the category for clients such as MTV, ESPN, K2, NIKE and CRUSTY DEMONS OF DIRT. OBE had placed action sports films in national AMC movie theaters, built the first snowboarding ramps in Austin and Los Angeles, and sold out shows for freestyle motocross at the Sydney Superdome.
Through 17 years and countless campaigns, experiences, and stories, Dan’s vision has evolved into On Board Experiential Marketing. The agency’s work has earned a Reggie Award for the Lego “Free the Band” campaign and EX Awards for the Nike Women’s Marathon and the Nike Human Race LA. In 2008 and 2009, OBE was named one of the top 5000 Fastest Growing private companies in America by INC Magazine and is currently included on Event Marketer Magazine’s “It List”, which names the industry’s top 100 agencies.
Dan's success has also been profiled in Event Marketer’s Top Agency Round Table and the San Francisco Business Journal. In 2012, he was named to the Board of Directors for Worldwide Partners North America, the world’s largest independent advertising network.
From On Board’s waterfront Sausalito office, Dan continues to lead the evolution of OBE, which now boasts a wide range of clients, such as Nike, Red Bull, Audi, Dow Chemicals, and Kellogg’s. He lives in Mill Valley, CA, with his wife Danielle and his two daughters, Madison and Kiele. Whenever possible, you’ll find Dan snowboarding, surfing, motocrossing or playing guitar.
